Filly – Privacy Policy
Last updated: 6 November 2026
Short version: Filly does not collect, store or share any of your data with its developer or anyone else. Your files and keys go only between your device and the storage service you choose.
Who we are
Filly is an independent Android app for browsing and uploading to S3-compatible object storage such as Fastly Object Storage. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Fastly, Inc. Contact: through the links on www.alpagot.net.
What Filly stores on your device
- Storage account details you enter (name, region, access key ID, secret access key, optional endpoint and settings). They are encrypted on your device with AES-256-GCM using a key held in Android's hardware-backed Keystore, and are excluded from device backups and transfers.
- App settings such as theme, link expiry and the last folder you opened.
- Filly Pro status: when your free trial started, and whether you own Filly Pro (so it works offline).
- Image thumbnails cached so folders load faster. You can clear them from Android's app settings.
What leaves your device
- Requests to the storage endpoint you configure (for example
uk-east-1.object.fastlystorage.app), to list, upload, download, rename or delete files that you choose. Your secret key is never sent; requests are signed with it on the device (AWS Signature Version 4). - When you test a public link, a request for one of your files at the website address you entered.
- In the Google Play version, Filly asks Google Play whether you own Filly Pro, and Google Play handles any purchase. Payment details go to Google, never to Filly or its developer. Google's privacy policy covers that part.
Nothing is sent to the developer of Filly. There are no analytics, advertising, tracking or crash-reporting services in the app.
Sharing
Filly shares data only when you ask it to: for example when you copy a link, or use “Share link”, which creates a time-limited link to one of your files and hands it to the app you pick.
Permissions
- Internet / network state – to reach your storage.
- Notifications and foreground service – to show upload progress and keep uploads running in the background.
- Biometrics – only if you turn on “Lock Filly”.
- Nearby devices (local network) – only requested if you point Filly at storage on your own network, such as a NAS.
Filly only reads files you pick or share to it, using Android's file and photo pickers.
Your choices
You can remove a storage account in the app at any time, which deletes its saved keys from the device. Uninstalling Filly removes all of its data from the device. Files in your storage are controlled by you and your storage provider, under their own terms.
Age
Filly is for people aged 13 and over. It's a tool for managing your own cloud storage, which needs a Fastly Object Storage account (or, using a custom endpoint, another S3-compatible service). It isn't designed for or aimed at children under 13. Filly doesn't collect personal information from anyone, of any age: everything you enter stays on your device and in your own storage account.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new date.
